CHARLEVILLE TIDY TOWNS UPDATE

Thanks to the efforts of Tus workers, Council staff, traders, volunteers and the people of Charleville, our town looks very well at the moment.

APPROACH ROADS

The Garden of Remembrance looks very impressive as one approaches from Limerick and Tus workers are to be commended for their work in clearing some unsightly foliage at gateways on this road. They are also commended for their work in levelling and cutting the verge of the approach road from Cork which up to now could not be cut due to the uneven nature of the surface. This area has been further enhanced by the addition of stones to finish the circle near Amber which itself is looking bright and welcoming. Residents are also to be complimented for the colourful planting on this approach road.

PAINTING

The painting by Tus workers has given a new lease of life to the many seats in the town centre and the flower boxes outside the church while the playground area in the town park is looking neat and tidy due to their work in recent days.

FLOWERS

Main Street has been brightened by the addition of flowers in tubs and hanging baskets, complimented by beautiful floral arrangements displayed by many traders. The trees in their protective cages have developed beautifully and are in full bloom. All add colour and vibrancy to the street.

The wildflowers at Mannix College and at Canon Burke Place are showing signs of colour and should be in full bloom in the coming weeks. We look forward to a colourful display as we had last year.

TIDINESS AND LITTER CONTROL

Co-operation is the key to presenting and maintaining our town in the best possible way at all times, everyone needs to co-operate with Council and Gateway staff to achieve a clean and tidy appearance on our streets. People seem to be increasingly aware of their responsibility in this regard and we urge everybody to continue the good work so we all live in a town of which we can be proud. Together we can make a difference so let’s all work together for the benefit of all the people of Charleville.

CLEAN UP

Tidy Towns clean up on Monday, 11th July at 7pm. Meet at Church and please bring brushes, shovels etc. Everyone is welcome.
